The FairTax grassroots movement is gaining momentum and strong support across the nation. In the first of a series of communications with the leadership, Mr. Linbeck held a conference call with local and off-site staff and directors.
Note: Read more for audio and video clips of Leo Linbeck's interview. In one of the clips, Mr. Linbeck tells us what we need in order to move the FairTax to a vote: 3000 petition signers in each of the 435 congressional districts, and 10,000 signers in each district of House Ways and Means and Senate Finance Committee members. Our primary effort should be to gather petition signatures as we tell people about the FairTax.
After thanking everyone for their commitment and hard work, Mr. Linbeck provided a background on Americans For Fair Taxation (FairTax.org) since its founding in 1995. He described the significant amounts of time and money spent to research and develop the FairTax plan, the early days of lobbying Washington, and the importance of generating bipartisan support. He explained the necessity of focusing our efforts through the grass roots to force change in Washington, and what the direction will be going forward. http://www.fairtax.org/linbeck_conference.html |
